Their mission statement is “poverty alleviation through the provision of food and vocational training in order to fulfill social, cultural and divine responsibilities”
The foundation recently launched a campaign tagged
“A CHILD A SCHOOL BAG CAMPAIGN”. The President of this noble organization Barrister
Mrs. Joyce Oduah holds this project very dear to her heart. She believes
education plays a very important role in the lives of everyone and in order to
live a better life, one needs to be educated. In her words, “a person who gets
a good education will become a good citizen and more dependable worker. Without
education a person is incomplete”.
FOLF a nongovernmental organization has decided to
be a part of the educational life of children in our great country Nigeria,
especially the indigent ones. They have intervened in the educational sector
severally by donating stationeries to indigent students both in primary and
secondary schools. They have also granted scholarships to not less than 50
brilliant children in both the primary and secondary schools sector. All these
are outside their interventions in the areas of entrepreneurial training,
organizing of workshops, symposia and seminars. They have also been involved
with training women on stove thread, bead and confectionery making.
The A CHILD A SCHOOL BAG CAMPAIGN is a campaign to
make sure that 5,000,000 indigent children in our country Nigeria are equipped
with school bags in the next 5 years, that is 5 million school bags for 5
million school children in the next 5 years (Mission 555). This is to help
boost the morale of the children who go to school without bags while some of
their mates have beautiful bags to showcase. FOLF and their partners have
decided to give out beautiful branded bags to the children in need of school
bags.
This initiative was given birth to after visiting primary and secondary
schools to distribute stationery; we discovered most of the children do not
have bags to put them into.
This campaign officially kicked off on the 17th
of March 2016. The organization visited seven primary schools in Ajegunle,
Lagos state and they strongly believe this humanitarian gesture will turn
around the lives of the recipients of these new branded school bags for good,
boost their morale and cause them to focus happily on their academics.
At this point, we use this medium to invite well meaning
Nigerians and people all over the world to join this campaign and better the
lives of indigent children. To all those who have contributed in one way or
